Boarding

Home-like boarding for your pets

Dog boarding in Pasadena costs from $80 a night at Jessica's Pawwsitive Care, where your dog stays in Jessica's own home rather than a kennel. Every stay includes walks, feeding to your instructions, medication if needed and a daily photo update, and only one household's dogs are boarded at a time. New clients start with a free 30-minute meet & greet.

About My Boarding Service

When your pet needs a home away from home, my boarding service provides a safe, comfortable environment with 24/7 care and attention. Unlike traditional kennels, my boarding is in a home setting, allowing your pet to relax and feel secure.

Boarding in a real home, not a kennel

Boarding means your dog stays with me in my home in Pasadena while you're away. There's no kennel run, no concrete row of enclosures, and no barking chorus at night. It's a normal house, and your dog is treated like a guest in it, which is exactly why so many owners pick this over a boarding facility.

The rate is $80 a night, with $10 per night for each additional dog from the same household and a $10 surcharge on major holidays. Overnight stays need advance notice, and holiday dates book up early, so reach out as soon as you know your travel dates.

Every boarding stay starts with a free 30-minute meet & greet so your dog has already met me before the first night. First-time stays go far better when the face at the door is a familiar one.

A typical boarding day

Mornings start with a potty trip and breakfast, fed exactly to your instructions, your food, your portions, your schedule. Then there's a proper morning walk, because a boarded dog who gets real exercise is a calm boarded dog.

The day is a mix of playtime, company and rest. I'm a working dog walker, so your dog slots into the same rhythm my own walking clients do rather than sitting in a cage waiting for a shift change. Evening brings dinner, another walk or potty trip, and settle-down time in the house.

Medication is no problem, including timed evening and morning doses, and each dose gets noted in your update. You get a photo and a short note every day, the same update my walking clients get, so you're never wondering how the stay is going.

What to pack and what I provide

Bring your dog's regular food with enough for the full stay plus a day or two extra, any medications with written instructions, and something that smells like home, a bed or a blanket goes a long way on the first night. Also bring your vet's name and number and an emergency contact.

I provide everything else: bowls, leashes, poop bags, toys, treats if you allow them, and daily photo updates. If your dog has a favorite toy or chew, send it along.

If anything runs out or anything comes up, I'll message you rather than guess. You'll never come home to a surprise I could have asked about.

Is boarding the right fit for your dog?

Boarding suits sociable, adaptable dogs who settle well in new places and enjoy having company around. It's also the budget-friendlier way to cover several nights compared with booking round-the-clock care in your home.

If your dog is anxious in unfamiliar places, is a senior set in their routine, or you have cats or small pets who need covering too, overnight sitting in your home is usually the better call. It is $100 a night from approximately 8 PM to 8 AM, and your pets keep their own beds, smells and routines.

Not sure which one fits? Tell me about your dog at the meet & greet and I'll give you a straight recommendation, even if it's the cheaper option.

Booking a boarding stay

Send a booking request with your dates and I'll confirm within 24 hours. Because I board in my own home, space is limited and I take one household's dogs at a time, so dates are first come, first served, especially around Thanksgiving, Christmas and the summer travel season.

Pick-up and drop-off times are arranged when we confirm the booking, anytime within my 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM hours, seven days a week.

Boarding is available to clients across Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley, including Altadena, South Pasadena, Glendale, Arcadia, Sierra Madre, Monrovia, San Marino and the surrounding foothill cities.
