What happens during a check-in visit

A 30-minute drop-in ($30) is a full care visit, not a quick head count. I feed to your written instructions including any portioning or wet/dry mix, refresh water, handle the potty break or scoop the litter box, clean up any accidents, and give medication if it's needed.

Whatever time is left goes to your pet, play for the ones who want it, quiet company for the ones who don't. I also do a quick pass on the house: lights on or off as you've asked, blinds, thermostat, mail and packages brought in, trash out on collection day.

You get a photo and a short written update after every visit, so you know your pet ate, went out, and is behaving normally.

Cats and small pets

Check-ins are the service most of my cat clients use, and cats get handled on cat terms. Litter is scooped and topped up, food and water stations are refreshed, and I sit down and let a shy cat come to me rather than hunting them out from under the bed. I'll confirm eyes-on with your cat every visit so you know they're genuinely fine, not just that the food went down.

Small pets are welcome too: rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds and reptiles. That means cage or hutch spot-cleaning, hay and pellet top-ups, water bottle checks, and out-of-cage time for the ones who are used to it. Tell me the routine at the meet & greet and I'll follow it exactly.

How many visits your pet needs

One visit a day is usually enough for a self-sufficient adult cat on a short trip. Two visits a day is the better default for anything longer than a couple of nights, for multi-cat homes, for cats on medication, and for any cat who gets stressed when the routine slips.

Dogs left home alone need more, typically two to three visits a day, and past a couple of nights overnight sitting is the kinder and often cheaper option. I'll tell you honestly which one your pet needs rather than selling you the bigger package.
