Why the meet & greet comes first

Every new client gets a free 30-minute meet & greet before any paid service. It isn't optional and it isn't charged, because handing your keys and your dog to someone you've only emailed is a lot to ask.

It happens in your home, so your pet is on their own ground rather than sizing up a stranger somewhere unfamiliar. There's no obligation at the end of it, and no pitch. Plenty of people use it to compare walkers, which is exactly what it's for.

What we cover in the 30 minutes

I ask about the things that make a walk go well or badly: your dog's daily routine and feeding times, their vet and any medical history, what they're reactive to or nervous about, how they behave on leash, recall habits, and whether anyone else has access to the house.

I also look around: how the leash and harness are set up and where they live, which doors and gates are an escape risk, where the water bowl and towels are, where treats and poop bags are kept, and how I'll be getting in when you're not home.

Then your pet and I spend a few minutes just being in the same room. For most dogs that's a sniff, a treat and a tail wag. For a nervous dog it might be me sitting on the floor ignoring them entirely, which is fine too.

What you get out of it

By the end you'll know who's walking your dog, and I'll have everything I need to start without a hundred text messages on day one. If we're a fit, I can usually start within a few days, and you can book straight from the booking page or reply to the email confirmation.
